48. Ebb & Flow
Playful messed with tops, they'd tried for weeks to stay upright
They spun it fast, and slow, and spun every morning, noon and night.
They worked and worked to balance it to turning without stutter.
Then came the skeleton's favorite day: when that top wouldn't shudder,
Playful Dead moved it to a foot, and started spinning two
when the two would tip & turn, he'd realign them-- phew!
Then on the hand's heel, they spun the three!
Fourth on a foot arch; fifth on a knee.
Sixth became tilted turning crown
Seventh in hand, they all spin 'round,
around, around, around...
And still they spin
"Ebb & Flow"
While it seems like multitasking is something productive souls are born with, (as with most things) there is a trick: do what you can, when you can, with what you have. If the goal is to keep the tops spinning, the question becomes how; once the "how" is figured, then adjustments can be made when another top comes into play. EBB & FLOW is a game of balance (and one of Playful's favorite), which asks us to prioritize better in order to keep things going. This card appears when more care needs to be observed with our tasks and workload-- or, perhaps, when our lives are at a tipping point. We're reminded to take stock of all the moving pieces, see which ones we can most effectively influence, and work in time to upright them. Remember, if the goal is to keep everything moving and one piece topples over, there are still others to consider in our corrective actions. Balance well: thoughtfully and proactively.
The Shadow Suit addresses deeper layers and life themes, while asking us to make longer-term commitments and changes to our habits. How can we fully embrace the experiences that make us more deeply human, and spiritual?
Could relate to: feeling overloaded, addressing the need to prioritize, finding your "groove" or "flow", having fun with difficult tasks, changing gears into a more demanding time.
Which of my priorities right now are Urgent AND Important?
Which of my priorities can I be more flexible with deadlines or quality?
Do I have obligations that don't serve my best interests, that I can cut from my life?
How do I maintain "Joie de vivre" or zest for life, as I juggle all these tasks?
YES/NO: YES - WORK WITH WHAT YOU CAN, WHEN YOU CAN TO BE SUCCESSFUL.
